Japanese Genmaicha - Green Tea Blend

This is a tea that is unexpected in the best way. Fresh and grassy green tea is laced with toasted and popped rice that gives a toasty and almost sweet flavor. Historically, as tea was made more readily available for the Japanese working class, the rice was added to stretch their stock and the longevity of the tea. Thus, Genmaicha was born!
